Featuring over 170 hands-on exhibits that focus on everything from visual perception and space to biology and earth science, the Adventure Science Center in Nashville is committed to helping people discover a love for science. One of the center’s many activities is the Judith Payne Turner Theatre located beneath the 63-foot dome of the Sudekum Planetarium. The theater presents a variety of shows the teach attendees about various topics relating to space. Some of the theater’s shows have included Skies over Nashville, through which viewers learn about locating constellations, and STARS, which teaches viewers how stars are born and how they die.
The Sudekum Planetarium’s Judith Payne Turner Theatre features day shows during the week and evening shows during the second Saturday of each month. The theater is occasionally closed on Mondays and only runs a few shows a day. During daytime shows, viewers must purchase both general admission to the Adventure Science Center and a planetarium show ticket. Most evening and laser shows do not require general admission.
